Curling my hair with a flat iron?

I just got a new flat iron and it works great i have sort of a wavy curly type of hair and this iron can make it completely straight! But my hair isn't that curly and i have a dvd that came with it saying that you can make curly hair and wavy hair and a bunch of cute hairstyles and I tried the curling thing exactly how they said to do it and it said it takes practice and i got it but it still won't work at all! Why isn't it working for me?Curling my hair with a flat iron?

It also depends on the smoothness of your hair. If your hair is super silky, smooth, heavy and thick, curling your hair might not be as easy because your hair is already very independent. It's not anything you're doing wrong, it's just how your hair is.

You have to have really long hair, I've tryed it to it didnt work.
